Step 5: Navigation the Thailand 2005 ride by yourself

It is also possible to navigate through to the Thailand adventure yourself making use of the Google Earth controls.

Google has recently released its geographic search tool Google Earth, a new application with satellite images and maps from around the globe. With this application it is possible to sit back, relax and enjoy the bicycle adventures we have undertaken. If GE is not running on your computer or you did not used the "touring feature" before follow the instructions below, otherwise jump go to the Virtual trip page where an overview is given of all the virtual trips currently available. Have fun !!.

Step 2: Adjust the settings of Google Earth Because the virtual trips makes use of the "touring feature" and this feature needs some adjustments that cannot be automated you have to make the following adjustments under "tools" and then "options". For the Thailand 2005 ride the options in GE earth can be set as shown: Under View, Rendering set Elevation Exaggeration to 2 Under Control, check the advanced box. Then in the "Driving directions tour options" box set - Camera tilt angle to 60 degrees - Camera range to 5000 meters (the maximum) - Speed to 1000 (the maximum) Of course you can change these adjustments later.
Step 3: Download the Thailand 2005 ride Download the kmz-file Thailand_ride_2005.kmz on your harddisk, and run it by double clicking (you also can directly run it by choosing open file). Google Earth will open automatically of you have not opened it. On the Virtual trip page all available rides are listed. Use the menu on the left to navigate and do not click on the screen. The flight stops and you have to start all over again !
		Step 4: Start the Thailand 2005 ride - In the menu on the left Select flightpath (single click) and press the "play tour" button to start the ride. - If you want to open the photographs using the menu on the left. You can close the by pressing on the close button (X) of the opened window. But as soon you click in the screen the The flight stops and you have to start all over again !
